| Background: | Born in Shediac, New Brunswick, James (Jim) Bateman spent his life working in the fishing and dairy industries. Prince Edward Island held a special place in his heart. Through his work, he built lifelong friendships with generations of Islanders. Jim took a particular interest in supporting students pursuing careers in agriculture. For many years, Jim offered summer employment to students on his family farm. He was an early supporter of Â鶹´«Ã½?s development of expertise in lobster science and aquatic research. |
