| Background: | The Â鶹´«Ã½ Business Society is a student-run organization dedicated to enhancing the educational experiences and social well-being of students throughout their time at the School of Business. Many activities and initiatives are undertaken each year, providing members with great opportunities to develop relationships with local business leaders, faculty members and, of course, fellow students. Every year ends with a formal Luncheon, where a nationally/internationally known business person comes to speak to students and local business people. The Â鶹´«Ã½ Business Society established this scholarship using proceeds from the Luncheon. Criteria: A $500 scholarship will be granted to a student of the Business Administration program who is a member of the Â鶹´«Ã½ Business Society in the current year, is registered full time, is not currently on the Business Society Executive, has demonstrated a commitment to academics, and an enthusiasm and drive for a career in business. The successful recipient will be recommended by the Â鶹´«Ã½ Business Advisory Council in consultation with the Executive of the Â鶹´«Ã½ Business Society. The Society will ensure that the Advisory Council has a healthy cohort of names to consider prior to the annual January deadline for identifying a recipient. |
