| Description: | Awarded to a full-time Â鶹´«Ã½ student in second, third year, or fourth year who has an academic average of at least 75% in their previous academic year, is a varsity-level athlete and playing on the community football team. |
| Background: | In 2010, post-secondary level football returned to Prince Edward Island with the establishment of a PEI community football club. This was a welcomed announcement to football players, former players and fans who have been advocating for the return of football to PEI for decades. As part of the Atlantic Football League, the football club is committed to encouraging participation from both Â鶹´«Ã½ and Holland College student athletes. In 2010, the team created the Annual PEI Heritage Football Classic, bringing together former varsity players from St. Dunstan's University, Prince of Wales College and the Â鶹´«Ã½. This annual award was established to honour the football tradition at Â鶹´«Ã½ and to support a Â鶹´«Ã½ student athlete. |
