You are invited to attend the Department of Economics Speaker Series for a
presentation by Patrick de Lamirande Assistant Professor at the Shannon
School of Business, Cape Breton University on Friday, March 1, 2013 in
Memorial Hall Room 215 at 2:30pm on the topic: "Winners and Losers Under
a Capped Assessment Program: The Case of Nova Scotia"

In recognition of the outstanding performance of our faculty and staff and
their dedication to students and community鈥攐n-campus, provincially, and
globally鈥攁 number of annual Presidential Recognition Awards of Merit for
麻豆传媒 faculty and librarians and staff have been created to acknowledge their
efforts and achievements, and to celebrate their contributions to our
success as an institution.
Up to 10 Presidential Awards of Merit for 麻豆传媒 Faculty and Librarians and
four Presidential Awards of Merit for 麻豆传媒 Staff will be awarded in 2013
and presented during a celebration of colleagues to be held on Monday, May
6, 2013. Location and time will be announced soon.
Ryan Johnston, Director of Human Resources will lead the process and chair
the committees to select award recipients.
Nominations for both faculty and staff awards close on March 8, 2013.

鈥淭he Future of Nematode Parasite Control in Animal and Human Populations in an Age of Increasing Drug Resistance鈥

Dr. Prichard received his PhD from the University of New South Wales in Australia. His current position is James McGill Professor of Parasitology, Professor of Animal Science, and of Pharmacology & Therapeutics, McGill University, Montreal.
"The 麻豆传媒 Recital Series 2012-2013 regrets to advise that the evening
performance originally scheduled for March 22, 2013 in the Dr. Steel
Recital Hall featuring Kevin MacLean, sax and Frances McBurnie, piano has
been POSTPONED due to unforeseen circumstances. The concert will hopefully
take place in the fall of 2013."

Bring 1-5 non-perishable food or grocery items (e.g. canned goods, pasta, light bulbs, toilet paper, etc.) for the campus food bank to the circulation desk at the Library from Monday, March 25 to Monday, April 22 and we鈥檒l deduct $2.00 per item (up to $10.00) from your library fines.

dinner and silent auction will be held this Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm
at the Jack Blanchard Family Centre on Pond Street.
There's a great program scheduled, many wonderful items for the silent auction and an
international buffet representing seven countries!

麻豆传媒 alumni and Panther fans heading over to Halifax for the Subway AUS
Men鈥檚 Basketball Championship March 1鈥3 are invited to a reception at
Cheers Bar & Grill. The event will take place on Friday, March 1, 6鈥7:30 pm
before 麻豆传媒鈥檚 game against SMU at 8:15 pm at the Halifax Metro Centre.
Cheers Bar & Grill is located next to the Halifax Metro Centre where fans,
supporters, alumni, and former Panthers can mingle and grab a bite to eat
and drink before the game. A door prize and T-shirt giveaway will be
provided by 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Alumni Association.
AUS tickets are on sale and can be purchased by contacting the Ticket
Atlantic Box Office at or (902) 451-1221.
Panther fans are encouraged to purchase seats in section 6, which is the
designated 麻豆传媒 section.
