In the weeks leading up to Convocation, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ graduates, working with the Grad Class coordinators, plan a variety of activities in addition to the official University-organized Convocation events. Please check back often as once more activities are confirmed, they will be added to this page.

Convocation Rehearsal

Rehearsal attendance is highly recommended to ensure that the Convocation ceremonies proceed properly. At the rehearsal there will be a demonstration on "how to wear" academic dress. The rehearsal is approximately 45–60 minutes.

AVC Awards and Recognition Night
Performing Arts Centre and Residence

The Atlantic Veterinary College is pleased to host our Awards and Recognition Night for our graduating Class of 2025, and faculty, staff, donors, and sponsors, on Monday, May 12, 2025, in the Âé¶¹´«Ã½'s Performing Arts Centre. The annual Green Hat Award will also be presented. The reception will start at 5:00 pm, and the ceremony from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Attendance is by invitation.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Department of Religious Studies concert 
Steel Recital Hall, Steel Building
8:00–9:00 pm 

The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Department of Religious Studies will present a free concert celebrating the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Class of 2025 on Monday, May 12, from 8 to 9 pm, in the Steel Recital Hall, Steel Building. The 8th Avenue Singers, a choir of talented professional singers, including Âé¶¹´«Ã½ students, will perform songs from Godspell, the Musical. All are welcome to attend this free concert.

The Atlantic Veterinary College will host its 2025 White Coat Ceremony on Tuesday, May 13, at 2:00 pm at the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Performing Arts Centre and Residence. This annual event celebrates graduates of the doctor of veterinary medicine program.

The Foods and Nutrition 4th year Celebration is an annual event for graduates and their families to celebrate with faculty and friends. Adulting 101, Episode 1: Career Transitions

Graduation is often a major time of transition, but transitions happen throughout your career! Navigating changing labour markets, life circumstances, new opportunities, and personal preferences is what career development is all about! Join us for a session facilitated by Shannon Snow, Interim Manager of Experiential Education, as they provide strategies for making good career moves, whatever your degree or goals! Snacks will be available at the event. We will also draw for door prizes.

Three Minute Thesis (3MT)

The Three Minute Thesis (3MTâ„¢) challenges thesis-based master's and doctoral students to explain their research project to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes. This year's competition features 19 competitors from a wide range of disciplines including: Education, Island Studies, Science, Sustainable Design Engineering, and Veterinary Medicine! Join us to support Âé¶¹´«Ã½ graduate students, and to learn more about the fascinating and impactful research Âé¶¹´«Ã½ graduate students are completing in this fast-paced, accessible format. 
Light refreshments provided, with door prizes! Âé¶¹´«Ã½ students, faculty, and staff, and community members welcome.
