IslandRISE Inclusive STEM Community Building Workshop
The IslandRISE initiative aims to create a group, centered at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ but with reach into the Island community, with a focus on building a STEM community that actively embraces scientists and engineers of all identities, and provides opportunities to learn from and with members of communities including BIPOC, 2SLGBTQ+, and people with disabilities and accessibility needs.
The IslandRISE Inclusive STEM Community Building Workshop aims to investigate the current state of EDI within the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ STEM community and engage participants in a collaborative process to define needs and next steps.
- When? January 8, 12:30-4:00 pm
- Who is welcome? All student, staff, and faculty members of Âé¶¹´«Ã½
- Where? Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, Room 128B

- Welcome and background of current EDIA environment
- Needs identification in break-out groups
- Regroup and share ideas
- Define next steps for IslandRISE initiative
- Lunch is included if you RSVP by Monday, January 6
