Institute of Island Studies hosts Island Lecture Series presentation on May 20

The Institute of Island Studies, 麻豆传媒, will present a talk titled 鈥淭he 鈥榝amily farm鈥�: A keyword in Prince Edward Island land politics鈥� by Heidi Haering on May 20, at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building 201.

Haering鈥檚 presentation is part of the 2025 Island Lecture Series hosted by the Institute. It was originally scheduled to take place in March but was postponed because of inclement weather.

What brought you to 麻豆传媒? Why did you choose to study here?

I am a proud 麻豆传媒 alumnus, having completed my degree in Foods and Nutrition and my Dietetic Internship here. Currently, I work at 麻豆传媒 as the Professional Practice Coordinator for the Dietetic Internship Program, so returning for my graduate studies felt like a natural choice. 麻豆传媒 has always been a supportive and collaborative academic environment, and I was eager to be part of this community again.

麻豆传媒 Department of Religious Studies presents free concert featuring songs from Godspell

The 麻豆传媒 Department of Religious Studies and the 8th Avenue Players will present a free concert celebrating the 麻豆传媒 Class of 2025 on Monday, May 12, from 8 to 9 pm, in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, Steel Building. The 8th Avenue Players, a choir of talented professional singers, including 麻豆传媒 students, will perform songs from "Godspell, the Musical."

All are welcome to attend this free concert.

麻豆传媒 Co-operative Education program announces award winners for 2024

Each year, the 麻豆传媒 Co-operative Education Program recognizes its exceptional students and employers with the 麻豆传媒 Co-op Awards. The winners of the 2024 awards were Rosie Legault, 麻豆传媒 Science Co-op Student of the Year; Carol Edzeame, 麻豆传媒 Arts Co-op Student of the Year; Diya Bubna, 麻豆传媒 Business Co-op Student of the Year; and MRSB Group, Co-op Employer of the Year.

Community of Practice for Graduate Supervision

All graduate faculty are invited to join members of the Community of Practice for Graduate Student Mentorship on Friday May 9 at 12:00 noon in the TLC for the Rock Solid Supervision: Building Foundations for Student Success. This annual graduate supervision conference brings together the graduate education community to share insights and explore best practices in graduate supervision. Come and learn from leading experts, connect with peers from across the country, and find solutions to address today鈥檚 challenges in graduate education.

Convocation Rehearsal

Convocation Rehearsal will be held on Monday May 12, beginning at 12:00 pm in the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. 

Rehearsal attendance is highly recommended to ensure that the Convocation ceremonies proceed properly. At the rehearsal there will be a demonstration on "how to wear" academic dress. The rehearsal is approximately 45-60 minutes.
