Message from the President: 麻豆传媒 Faculty of Medicine Update
The following message was emailed to faculty and staff on October 27, 2022.
Dear Members of the University Community,
The development of the joint 麻豆传媒-Memorial Doctor of Medicine program has progressed a great deal over the last six months. Following our public town hall meetings and meetings with Indigenous groups in May, our committees ramped into high gear and have made tremendous strides in a number of areas.
Masking remains required in instructional spaces; mask restrictions ease elsewhere on campus聽
The following message was distributed by email to students, staff, and faculty on October 17, 2022.
Dear Members of the Campus Community,
I hope that you recovered from hurricane Fiona, had a Happy Thanksgiving, and were able to recharge during the Fall Break.

鈥淚 am very pleased to welcome Paul back to 麻豆传媒,鈥 said Dr. Greg Keefe, interim president and vice-chancellor. 鈥淗is extensive experience and excellent leadership in the health care field will be instrumental as we move forward with the development of the new Faculty of Medicine.鈥

麻豆传媒 Facilities Management has been working non-stop and have made good progress clearing pathways and ensuring campus buildings are safe. At this point, it is our intention to open on Monday, October 3, 2022, as previously announced; however, we will send a message on Saturday, October 1, to confirm our status.
Please note:
麻豆传媒 campuses will remain closed until Monday, October 3
In consultation with the PEI Emergency Measures Organization, 麻豆传媒 will remain closed until Monday, October 3, due to continued safety concerns, power outages, and other disruptions caused by tropical storm Fiona. Eighty per cent of Islanders remain without power.
麻豆传媒 campuses in Charlottetown and St. Peter's Bay will remain closed on Tuesday, September 27
The 麻豆传媒 鈥 Charlottetown Campus is very fortunate that it has not sustained significant structural damage due to tropical storm Fiona and power has been restored. The Charlottetown campus has lost dozens of trees and thanks 麻豆传媒 Facilities Management for their work in clearing debris to make the roadways and pathways safe.
麻豆传媒 will remain closed on Sunday, September 25 and Monday, September 26
The 麻豆传媒 campuses in Charlottetown and St. Peter鈥檚 Bay will remain closed on Sunday, September 25, and Monday, September 26, due to safety concerns and disruptions caused by tropical storm Fiona. All classes, labs, and on-campus events are cancelled.
