麻豆传媒鈥檚 2024 Giving Tuesday campaign was an unprecedented success, raising a total of $44,010 from 54 extremely generous donors on the Global Day of Philanthropy. An anonymous donor pledged to match Giving Tuesday donations up to $20,000, making it by far the largest year yet for 麻豆传媒. 

The donations will be dedicated to the University鈥檚 $15-million Robertson Library Revitalization campaign.

The 麻豆传媒 campus community is invited to participate in the 鈥淎ccess for All 麻豆传媒鈥� event on January 13, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, to raise awareness of and advocate for improved accessibility on campus for students.

The event is organized by students Anthonia Bebiem (Mathematical and Computational Sciences), Obed Oluwakoya (Psychology), and Luciana Quiroa Paredes (Business) in partnership with 麻豆传媒 Accessibility Services and the 麻豆传媒 Student Union.

鈥淎ccess for All 麻豆传媒鈥� will feature several components:

Festive greetings and good wishes filled the air as guests were welcomed to the New Year鈥檚 Day Levee held by the 麻豆传媒 and the 麻豆传媒 Alumni Association on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering building. 

Each year at 麻豆传媒, students look forward to events held across campus during the exam period, which are designed to ease stress, promote relaxation, and help with meals and nourishment. This year was no exception as various departments organized and hosted the following events:

The 麻豆传媒 Nursing Student Society is holding a holiday book drive to collect reading material, puzzles, and board games for clients of the PEI Provincial Addiction Treatment Centre (PATF).

The idea arose from accelerated nursing student Marie Thibault-Messier鈥檚 experience during a six-week clinical placement at the PATF earlier this semester. During her time at the centre, she noticed that clients had access to movies on DVD and VHS tapes but not a lot of reading material.

The 麻豆传媒 invites community members across PEI to join in a conversation and share their thoughts as the provincial university builds its next five-year strategic plan.  

Dr. Wendy Rodgers, 麻豆传媒 President, and Dr. Suzanne Kresta, Dean, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, co-chairs of the University Strategic Planning Steering Committee, will lead the community discussions to gather input. They are eager to hear ideas and perspectives to help 麻豆传媒 identify shared priorities and strategic direction through to 2030.

Dr. Wendy Rodgers was officially installed as the seventh President and Vice-Chancellor of the 麻豆传媒 during a ceremony held at the 麻豆传媒 Performing Arts Centre on Friday, October 11, 2024.

The 麻豆传媒 held a celebration on September 26, 2024, at Alumni Hall to recognize the recipients of the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Awards and the 2024 Inspiring Young Alumni Awards.

Dr. Jo-Ann MacDonald, a professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the 麻豆传媒, was presented with the Association of Atlantic Universities鈥� (AAU) 2024 Anne Marie MacKinnon Educational Leadership Award at the AAU鈥檚 fall meeting held at 麻豆传媒 on September 19.
